Raspberry Picking at Remlinger Farms

15th July 2012

Background

Remlinger Farms is a 350-acre (1.4 km2) working farm located in Carnation, Washington, and listed in the Library of Congress Local Legacies Project. It is open to the public for 6 months of the year with amusement rides, entertainment, u-pick fields and corn mazes specializing in local produce. It was originally created from the Remlinger family farm, owned by Floyd Remlinger, before being taken over by his son, Gary Remlinger.  -- Remlinger Farms Facebook page

Getting There

The route

It was a scenic drive to the Remlinger Farms.  On the way, we saw different species of cattle.  In addition, there are also new/old barns and lots of greenery.  Oh yes, we passed Camp Corey as well.  Finally, we entered the city of Carnation.  The city seems to be getting more and more beautiful each time we drove past.

U-Pick

There wasn't a lot of people when we got to the Remlinger Farms's upick field.  Most people must have visited yesterday as most of the raspberry plants had already been picked clean.  Nevertheless, we still managed to pick 5 pounds of raspberry in 1.5hrs!
